
John Mac’s oyster stall at Temple Bar Food Market is something of of an institution. His grade A oysters are harvested every Friday from the pristine Atlantic waters at Tarmon East, off the coast of Co Clare.
This is where the serious foodies gather to sit and savour a half-dozen of the finest on the half shell. The tasty bivalves are served with wedges of lemon and soda bread and washed down with free glasses of crisp white wine. A little corner of Paris, via Clare, in the heart of Temple Bar.
Little wonder that Newsweek International rated a visit to the St Martin Shellfish stall as one of it’s favourite reasons to visit Dublin. We wholeheartedly agree.
