McNally’s Family Farm ( Props – Jenny & Martin McNally)
Jenny and Pat McNally's farm in Balrickard, Co Dublin received full certification by the Organic Trust nine years ago but the couple had ceased to use artificial pesticides and fertilisers many years previously.
It is this kind of dedication that has made the McNallys so respected within Irish growing circles and continues to make their Temple Bar stall one of the most popular at the market. The outstanding vegetables at their stall are always informed by seasonality and their unparalleled freshness is a testament to the short distance they have travelled to market.
Among their myriad crops, you can choose from the best salad leaves you have ever tasted, such as rocket, purslane and cress, baskets full of fragrant herbs like chervil, lemon thyme and sorrel and magnificent heritage varieties of tomatoes and carrots. Come along and see for yourself, if this were the only stall in Meeting House Square it would still be worth an early Saturday start to beat the lunchtime rush.
