Ariosa Coffee Roasting Co. (Prop – Michael Kelly)
Michael Kelly first became immersed in the world of coffee roasting while training as a barista in Australia, where the culture is led by small-scale roasters working only with the highest grade beans.
Upon his return to Ireland he set about researching the business and in 2003 travelled to Italy to procure his first coffee roaster. Michael, through his London agent, buys only speciality graded beans from single estates, directly from the growers.
Such “microlots”, as they are known, account for only 5% of the global crop and produce coffees of unmistakable character and depth. He constantly stresses the freshness of his beans as the key flavour factor and one sip of Ariosa’s peerless espressos or lattes will bear this out.
The first stop of the day for the market veterans and arguably the best cup of joe in the City.
