Professor Barra Boydell brings us on a walking tour of the streets, churches and music halls familiar to Handel during his ten month stay in Ireland which included the world premiere of The Messiah in April 1742. With further contributions from Robert Young, organist at St. Michan’s Church, and the late Dr. Brian Boydell.

Passacaille from Irish composer Bemjamin Dwyer, commissioned by Temple Bar Cultural Trust for the 2007 Dublin Handel Festival.
Passacaille was commissioned by Temple Bar Cultural Trust for the 2007 Dublin Handel Festival. The Passacaille (originally for Baroque violin, violone, and harpsichord) was premiered at the 2007 Handel Festival at St Audeon’s Church and performed by Trio Quattro. The Passacaille takes its cue from one of the major figures of the Baroque - G.F. Handel.
